How do I know what brand of liquor to order at a bar?

I am not very familiar with different brands of liquor, such as which are better, more expensive and which are cheaper, etc. When I go to a bar what brands of different liquors should I order ? I really don't care and am fine with the house liquor because it will be the cheapest. If I just name the drink is the bartender going to ask me which brand of liquor I want? How do I respond?|||i work on a bar and i always serve the house drinks unless the customer specifies that they want another more expensive brand.

if your that worried though you can just ask which is the house brand before you order, or if they ask afterwards just say you'll have whichever is the house/cheapest. Or if your not so bothered about the price ask the bar tender which they think is the nicest or which is the most popular. Then you could ask how much that one is.

Basically talk to the person behind the bar that's what they're there for.|||If you say that you are fine with drinking the cheap stuff, just say you want well or house vodka. Bars usually carry a crappy brand as their well drinks. So like the vodka, gin, rum, tequila, triple sec in the well is usually a no name brand like Gilberts or something cheap. I've even seen Poland Springs vodka before lol. Also relatively cheap for vodka Absolut, Rum Captains or Bacardi, Gin Tanqueray. Usually these are only like .50 - 1.00 more than the well vodkas. The most expensive are Grey Goose, Ketel One, Sailor Jerry, Bombay Sapphire, etc. Just reply you want the well vodka or whatever.|||If you order a rum and coke, you will get whatever kind of rum they use as the "house" brand. It will often be one of the cheaper ones unless you're in a very high end bar. If you want a specific brand, you ask for " Bacardi and rum". Never be afraid to ask a server or bartender to recommend something a bit different or a bit more expensive, (it's part of their job to help you spend more money and get exactly what you want), but in many mixed drinks you won't notice much taste difference. Drinks that are almost entirely alcohol or mixed with water only, like Martinis or Scotch on the rocks, that's where paying for a premium brand might be worth it. However, the price difference between the best and the cheapest isn't always all that much except maybe with some Scotch whiskeys.|||If he asks, just tell him the house liquor is fine and he will give you that. Lots of people order drinks like "coke and rum" and if you dont specify the specific brand, he will give you the house brand, especially in busy clubs, if you dont specify the type of liquor you want, they wont ask, theyll give you the house stuff. If you want a beer or wine, you will usually have to pick one. Try to find out what the special is on beer and have that, most of the American mainstream beers they have on special are equally good.|||It depends on how picky you are with what you want to drink the best way to find out is try loads of different brands and types of different liquor e.g rum comes in at least 3 different types dark rum white rum and spicy rum. My favourite is whisky, scotch mainly to be honest single malt whisky is may fav but even in that there is different types and flavours it is all about trial and error so have fun getting sloshed!|||you got

1. johnny walker (black label) for when you wanna get real lose and drunk.. --old scotch whiskey.

2. johnny walker (red) its for the head. have a few shots and go to bed..

3.tequila white .. if you wanna enjoy.. but not when your alone.. go for black label johnny walker..

4.find someone cool and tell the bar tender ill have what he/she is having.. thats good for a bar convo..

5.if you like vodka.. or don't. you can always enjoy a Smirnoff black. and red bull .. you will think you have wings.. ha..ha..

//sam the sinner always a winner|||I don't drink, but I would just say what you know you like, or ask what he/she suggests. Be careful and do not drink and drive.|||the name of the drink is usually the brand.
