I am looking to obtain a liquor license in EITHER of these states鈥Y, NJ, and TX

I'm looking for a license to sell bottles not a bar license. I want to become a distributor.|||You have check local state laws - they're all very different - a liquor license in NY is about $500 bucks where here in NJ where I live it would very well be over $100,000...

What kind of liquor is in schnapps and can you buy it straight?

I have a customer (I work at a liquor store) that wants to buy a liquor that tastes the same as what you would get in schnapps but he wants it unflavored so he can "experiment" with different flavors. He wants something with very little after taste that's not too high in alcohol content. Thanks! :D|||"Schnapps" is German for brandy, I believe. There are all kinds of Schapps, just like there are all kinds of brandy. It is mixed with whatever flavor it says it is. Cherry brandy is "Kirschwasser," for example. The alcohol content is very high, regardless of whether it is mixed with something else.|||well i have been setting here on the computer drinking peppermint schnapps for about 3 hrs now and have about an hours worth left , but seriously he cannot get it unflavored unless he goes too the distillery and have them make it special for him , good luck finding it fot him/her what i am drinking and i am reading from the bottle it says 30% ALC/CONTENT 60 PROOF , LOW ALCOHOL C ONTENT COMPARED TOO 90 PROOF TO 100 PROOF|||O.K., so far everybody here is pretty much WRONG! I'm from Germany, where Schnapps originated, let me explain:

Schnapps is a type of distilled beverage. The word Schnapps is derived from the German word Schnaps and refers to usually clear alcoholic beverages distilled from fermented cereals, roots or fruits, including cherries (Kirschwasser), apples, pears, peaches, plums and apricots. Often, the base material for making schnapps is the pulp that is a by-product in juice production. True Schnapps has no sugar or flavouring added.

Schnapps is similar in flavour and consistency to vodka, with light fruit flavours, depending on the base material. The alcohol content is usually around 40% by volume.

Since Schnapps can be made from cereals, of course there is Schnapps without fruit flavor.

This one would be ideal for your customer:

BERENTZEN - Doornkaat

Enjoy the sinful smooth flavour of Germany's traditional maize-based schnapps, it's clean, clear and awesome.

In its bold green bottle and distinct logo it should be positioned between vodkas and gin and in the neighborhood of grain specialties like Steinhaeger and Aquavit. Doornkaat could be enjoyed chilled or in your favourite cocktail.

Doornkaat is the only speciality grain spirit that is distilled three times in a complex procedure, thus acquiring its unique quality. This ensures that Doornkaat has an extremely pure, mild and clear flavour which corresponds to the connoisseur of clear spirits.

Doornkaat has been one of the most well-known German brand name spirits for a number of decades (38% vol).|||no|||Schnapps is actually a fruit brandy, made from fermented fruits or cereals. It's flavor comes from the pulp used as base material (cherries, peaches, apricots, pears or peaches). There is no such thing as unflavored schnapps, since the flavoring is built in from the fermented base.|||jade i used to work in a liquor store ive never seen unflavored schnapps. i know theres everclear that people use to make diffrent things but thats way high in proof maybe he can try plain vodka there always coming out with new flavors in that|||Yes I believe you can buy it straight with different flavors as well and as to what's in it, its based brandy and you can take it from there.|||Schnapps is the alcohol equivilent of crack. But it comes in so many flavors, I would have no idea where to even start.|||Any schnapps is going to have 'flavor'. The customer is somewhat crazy in the thought process that he wants something that is the same taste as schnapps but is unflavored. Sounds like he was a little tipsy when he asked you for this one. Schnapps has a higher sugar content and lower alcohol content. No flavor but with still a somewhat higher alcohol content would be to use vodka and add a simple sugar solution. Simple sugar is equal parts sugar and water. Then add that to the vodka. This would dilute the alcohol percentage. It would add the sugar content and it would also reduce all, if any, flavor that you could taste from the vodka. At this point, you could infuse any flavor that you chose to add. For example, you could take a glass gallon jug, add one-fifth, 750 milliliters of vodka, 6 ounces of simple sugar solution and 8 halved peaches and refrigerate for a couple of weeks. This would give you a modified peach schnapps type alcohol that you could adjust the recipe for your next batch. You could also try this with any other fruit, or vegetable, that you wanted to try. Hope this helps.

When did PA start sealing liquor bottles with paper tabs?

I recently came across a bottle of JW Red that was made before liquor bottle caps were sealed with the red tabs. I think these tabs were used until the mid to late 80's, and haven't been able to find out when they started using them. The bottle is clearly very old and I don't believe it was purchased anywhere out of state. Anyone have any ideas?|||No idea. But it sounds like a nice collectible.

What restrictions are placed on liquor storage in the living space of a motor home?

As I found on Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Open_contai鈥?/a> states may still receive full federal funding by not restricting open containers of liquor in the living space of a motor home. Do any states have such restrictions anyway? I'm curious about both restrictions on storage of, say, opened bottles of spirits, but also about consumption of alcohol in the living quarters of motor homes while the vehicle is turned off.|||Peggy pretty much said it all. Store all you want, you just can't drink %26amp; drive...or have open containers while on the road. Not to say, that when I've driving, there aren't people behind me some times having a drink...and if so, if drinking beer, it's never from the beer bottle (we have our standards, beer in cans not in our house or RV!)...it's always from a cup. No need to create a problem for anyone driving by.|||As far as I know, no states actually enforce that...unless you are a CDL truck driver ...then it is NO alcohol allowed even

unopened in the cab or sleeper part of the truck at any time.

As for an RV on the road...open container laws apply. Once parked, drink as much as you want, just do not drive while

under the influence.

What time do liquor stores open in Florida?

I work with a call center and am about to begin a campaign which calls upon liquor stores in the Ft. Lauderdale/Miami area in Florida. Is there a state regulated time that liquor stores open in Florida, or is it based upon the individual business? Thanks.|||Liquor is sold separately here than Beer %26amp; wine. I think it's up to the store. It's different that's for sure. Closed Sundays too.|||I believe that it is mandated by the State.|||It Depends mostly on the store. But their not aloud to sell liquor on sunday.

What are the employee benefits when you work at a liquor store?

What are the employee benefits when you work at a liquor store? Specifically Specs.|||Drunk in charge of a till.|||Why dont you ask? It depends upon if its a corporation..privately owned..etc

Is this a real question?

How can you tell if someone has been drinking hard liquor?

I'm asking because when drinking hard liquor, you can't smell it on the breath for some reason so how do you tell?|||Believe it or not alcohol in beverages really does not have an odor. What you smell is the preservatives and coloring agents. There is no law about drinking preservatives and coloring agents. What you smell is the odor associated with alcohol beverages, which is a good indication of drinking alcohol. A good indication is the jerkiness in the eye movement as a person watches a moving object. If the person is half way (or more) drunk, it will be obvious in their overall movement.|||You can smell it and it smells rancid. Vodka is about the only one that you cant really smell.

You can tell by their behavior usually. Are they acting differently than normal?

You can also tell by looking and someones eyes, red or glassy.

Listen to speech. People under the influence of alcohol will usually slur their words, sounding like they have a lazy tongue.

Watch them walk...do they stagger?|||if they're actin' like a fool, then you'll know. for the person who answered you can't smell vodka, that's not true. Vodka is the only liquor i drink, and I've been told i smell like alcohol when i drink it.

Do I need a liquor permit if I work in a resturant that serves liquor?

I live in Indiana and can't get a liquor license because of a dui and i am on probation. so do i need to have a liquor license to be a server but not serve alcohol in a restaurant?|||The restaurant must have a license, usually not the server. But I think I am right in this -- in Texas, if a person is on probation -- and liquor was the problem, that person would not be allowed to work in the place where is liquor sold.|||This may vary by state, but I don't believe to work in a restaurant that serves alcohol you would need a license. I'm pretty sure it's the owner of the franchise that needs to be licensed. Hope this helps.|||you don't but you need to take a bartenders course if your working at a bar, but if you just run drinks like beer you don't need one.|||If you own the restaurant, yes. If you just work there, no. It's the establishment that gets the license, not the individual. You may need to worry more about getting a job with your DUI conviction.|||You don't need a liquor permit, but the resteraunt does.|||No.

Which state has the most ridiculous liquor laws?

I live in TN.. Liquor can only be sold in liquor stores Mon-Sat, they close at 10 or 11pm. Beer is sold in gas stations and grocercy stores but not in liquor stores, they stop selling at 2 or 3am. Bars can serve liquor as long as they serve food, last call is 3am - 7 days.|||We were in Dallas TX on a Sunday. If I remember , The liquor store is closed all day, the quickie mart sells beer %26amp; wine after the noon hour. If you want hard liquor go to the bar at the hotel where you are staying. How uncivilized. I'm from Las Vegas.|||Louisiana. Not only do they have drive-thru liquor stores, but you can even get a margarita or mixed drink TO DRINK IN YOUR CAR AND DRIVE on your way out. That's nuts.|||CT Liquor stores must close by 9 and are closed on Sunday. Grocery stores can only sell beer. Bars have last call at 1:30. No alchohol may be sold on national holidays.|||Absolutely Utah. Aside from the other facts above, you also cannot order another drink until the one you have is gone, i.e. only one drink on the table at a time. My in-laws live there and make us do a "liquor run" every time we visit. Nuts!|||Utah|||well for starters youve missed the fact that all of america has a pretty dodgey law that says you have to be 21 to buy alcohol! what the hell is that about! and you should move to England mate you can buy alcohol whenever the hell you want, like actually 24 hours a day...7 days a week in supermarkets and club are open all night including christmas and new years|||utah i spent a week end there saying you can't do what?|||I also live in TN heh..|||Alabama, we have the highest 'sin' taxes in the nation!

- Alcoholic beverages end at 2 a.m. Sunday %26amp; can't resume until 12:01 Monday.

- Can't transport more than one case of beer %26amp; three quarts of liquor through a dry county.

- All alcohol purchased outside of Alabama are illegal and considered contraband.

- Minors under 19 years old are not allowed in establishments that have a lounge liquor license only.

-Alabama has an implied-consent breath analysis law. If you are suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol, you are required to take a breath test. Refusal can result in a 90-day suspension of your driver's license.|||i think it's north carolina (but it might be south carolina) where they have state-controlled liquor stores, no private ownership at all. i live in massachusetts and our stores (we call them "packies" lol) used to not be allowed to open on sundays, but a couple years ago they changed it because everyone would just drive up to new hampshire and they realized our state was losing a lot of money that way.|||In Michigan:

Bars can't serve in branded glassware (ex. a Guinness pint, etc.)

It's illegal to use coasters with beer, wine, or liquor brands on them.

Bar staff and store employees are prohibited from wearing branded clothing (beer, wine, liquor brands), except during the hours of a specifically branded promotion that has been approved by the state.

Any Michigan retail store that sells beverages with a deposit (10cent recycling deposit on soda, beer) is required to redeem any container with a MI deposit, regardless as to whether or not they sell that brand or even buy from a wholesaler who carries that brand.|||ny baby- u get any type of liquor anytime anyday|||Without a doubt Utah. They can't sell beer that has higer alcohol than 3.2%. They don't even have bars, just "private clubs" where you have to pay a membership fee to get in. All liquor stores are state owned and controlled and they mark up the prices over 60% for everything. You must order liquor at a restaruant with a meal.|||Washington.

The STATE GOVT.OWNS (literally)ALL of the liquor stores!!!!!!!!

beer and wine is avail in groceries and cornerstores.

the State also lets Ferry riders buy beer and wine on the ferry KNOWING DAM WELL THEY ARE GETTING IN THEIR CARS TO DRIVE OFF THE FERRY!!

yep, it's pretty silly what the state will do for a few bucks...

How long does a liquor license last for a business?

If I get a liquor license to open a wine shop how long will it last before I have to renew it?|||Best to check with your state, but most must be renewed annually.

How much is the Texas tax on liquor coming in from Mexico?

I am a Minnesota resident and want to bring liquor from Mexico into Texas. What is the Tax Texas charges on each Liter of liquor?|||last time I was there is was $1.25 per bottle.|||2 bttls are free after that its about 1.25-1.35 per bttl hard liquor

How do you open liquor when the cap is stuck?

I have a bottle of Sambuca I keep in my freezer. At some point over the last few weeks, the cap on the bottle became impossible to remove. It just spins and spins when I try to unscrew it, it almost seems like the cap expanded a little or the bottle retracted after I drank some of it.

Is there any way to open up a bottle when the cap just spins in place? I would hate to throw out a half full bottle of liquor.|||if the cap spins in place you've either stripped the threads or there's a secondary cap on it, either way pliers or a vice grip(not to tight ) will get it off|||Is the cap that metal kind like the top of a pop bottle?

If so, you can easily pierce a hole in it with a sharp knife. Then stick the knife in more and twist it to make the hole bigger.

Then pour the remaining sambuca into tupperware to continue storing.|||dont break the bottle, there will be tiny glass shards and it can be serious!|||If you can't stick a knife in the cap, try a screw. Leaving an opening to pour from. I don't know what happened to your bottle, but that really sucks.

If you can open the top (either by knife or screw), place a plastic baggie over the top and secure it with a rubber band.

How do I make liquor infusions?

I am the head bartender at a new bar, and we want to make liquor infusions with peppers, fruits, spices, etc. Does anyone know how to do that exactly? We have big, 5 gallon glass containers for it already. Thanks!|||Homemade Liqueurs Print

From the velvety, sweet depths of an after-dinner glass of Irish cream to the subtle and sophisticated whisper of a custom-infused vodka martini, homemade liqueurs can be crafted to suit every mood and taste. They make ideal gifts for any occasion, they require no special equipment, and best of all, they're easy to make! If you've got a little imagination and a little patience, you can start creating your very own signature liqueurs today.

At the Base of it All

Most homemade liqueurs start with vodka . Flavoring and infusing vodka is a tradition as old as vodka-drinking itself. This spirit is an ideal base for liqueurs because it's colorless and flavorless, making a perfect blank canvas on which to paint your very own flavor creations. To the vodka, you may add any number of ingredients to create copies of your favorite name-brand libations, or craft your very own innovative new flavors. Some of the most popular liqueur flavors, like coffee (e.g., Kahlua), amaretto, and Irish cream, not to mention homemade schnapps of every description, all rely on vodka for their kick. Or, you may prefer to hold back on the sugar and simply infuse the subtle and complex essences of herbs, spices or fruit into a bottle of vodka.

Of course, you need not limit yourself to vodka infusions! Once your creativity gets flowing, you may start dreaming up intriguing new concoctions with rum, tequila, gin, brandy, and whiskey, too! Whichever alcohol you decide to use as your base, choose a decent-quality brand. There's no need to break the bank for the premium varieties, but don't use the cheapest ones, either, or your carefully crafted potions will not taste good enough to drink straight.

Pick a Flavor

Now comes the fun part: choosing your flavors! There are two ways to add flavor to liquor: either mix flavored extracts right into it, or choose the flavoring ingredients in their raw form and allow them to steep in the alcohol for days or weeks. Using extracts is the fastest way to make a batch of liqueur, and there are a few cases, such as with almond extract, where this is the best way to get the flavor you're trying to achieve. More often than not, though, you will get the best results when you slowly infuse the liquor with fresh ingredients. For example, lemon cordial made with fresh lemon zest will taste a million times better than something made with lemon extract. Using fresh ingredients also allows you to introduce more variety to your concoctions; you won't be able to find as wide a variety of extracts and essences as you will of fruits and herbs and spices.

Infusing liquor is not an exact science - the varieties and quantities of flavoring you use is largely a matter of taste. If you make an infusion whose flavor turns out to be too overwhelming, you can always dilute it with more of the liquor you used as a base. Here are some flavoring ideas:

Fruit: Orange zest, lemon zest, kumquats, cranberries, raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, strawberries, cherries, peaches, tart apples, pineapple, pomegranate seeds, dried apricots, or dried sour cherries. Whole fruit should be sliced and/or mashed to allow the juices to escape and let the liquor come in contact with as much surface area as possible. Leave the skin on for maximum flavor.

Herbs and spices: Vanilla beans, coriander seeds, peppercorns, hot chiles, lemongrass, cinnamon sticks, cloves, nutmeg, whole coffee beans, dill, thyme, basil, tarragon, rosemary, or even garlic. Be sparing with the cloves and nutmeg: too much of these ingredients can produce a numbing effect in your mouth!

Try combining a couple of different flavors in the same batch: how about apple-cinnamon, chile-lemongrass, lemon-tarragon, orange-cranberry, or raspberry-vanilla? Just don't try to pack too many different things into one bottle, or you won't be able to distinguish the flavors.

Give it a Rest

Once you've chosen your alcohol and your flavorings, you just need to combine them. You can put the flavorings right into the liquor bottle if they'll fit through the neck. (You may need to pour some of the liquor into a holding container to make room for the other ingredients.) Otherwise, any glass or earthenware jar or bottle will work as long as it has a tight-fitting lid. Put the container in a dark place and leave it at room temperature. If you don't have a dark cupboard in your house, you can just put the bottles in a paper grocery bag and stir or rotate them a couple of times a day. Depending on how potent your flavorings are, you'll need to let them steep for anywhere from a day to a few weeks. Most fruit needs a full two to four weeks for all the flavor to be transferred to the alcohol, whereas chiles, garlic, and most fresh spices only need a couple of days. Don't be afraid to smell and taste the concoction to decide when it's ready.

Strain Your Resources

If you've used mashed fruit, your infusion is now going to have bits of sediment in the bottom. To get rid of, simply line a strainer with a coffee filter and slowly pour the liquor through it. Don't try to save the fruit that's been soaking in the booze - it won't have any flavor left in it.

Add a Little Sweetness

If you'd like to turn your fragrant new creation into a sweet liqueur, now is the time to add the sugar. However, you should avoid adding sugar directly to alcohol - it will take forever to dissolve, and you won't be able to tell right away how sweet it really is. Instead, make a simple syrup of two parts sugar to one part water. Combine them in a saucepan and simmer them on the stove until the sugar is completely dissolved. Let the syrup cool to room temperature and then sweeten the infusion to suit your tastes. Once a liqueur has been sweetened, most of them taste better after they've had a chance to "age" for a month or so. Aging allows the flavors to mellow and blend.

Bottle it Up

Scour local import stores, thrift stores, garage sales or your own cupboards to find interesting glass bottles. If they don't already have tops, you can buy corks at craft stores or winemaking supply shops to fit most bottle sizes. Have fun creating your own custom labels for your fine, handcrafted liqueurs. You can "garnish" each finished bottle by dropping in a small quantity of the original ingredients (a few berries, kumquats or coffee beans; a twist of citrus zest; an herb sprig; a chile pepper, etcetera).

Most homemade infusions are wonderful when served unadorned, straight out of the freezer. Most liqueurs are also beautiful when mixed into a fresh cup coffee or drizzled over a scoop of good vanilla ice cream. Any homemade libation can be substituted in a traditional cocktail with wonderful results. Make amazing martinis with your infused vodkas, or have fun inventing your own brand new signature drinks!

What is the specific type of orange liquor used in Margaritas made in Mexico?

I know it comes in a square green bottle, it is not Cointreau or Triple Sec. I've looked for it in many liquor stores, but I can't seem to find the name of it. What is a good liquor or alcoholic beverage?

I'm not much into alcohol taste, but I like it oddly. I just want to find a liquor that taste yummy like candy, not licorice or anything, but like chocolate or just sweet that doesn't have a stench or strong taste of alcohol, but is relatively easy to drink and get drunk. Silly, but I'd like to find a drink I enjoy.|||Try Sabra. It is a chocolate and orange flavored liquor. Midori tastes like melon. Peppermint schnapps isn't bad.|||Frangelica. may be spelled differently. sorry. It's an italian hazelnut liquor. Tastes exactly like chocolate cake. No lie. Drink it straight, chilled, on the rocks. I know from personal experience and it has terrific flavor and doesn't have a bad after taste like most. I've drank entire bottle, since I found the taste to be absolutely captivating. Goodluck! :D|||You sound like you could be a candidate for Buttery nipples, which is butterscotch schnapps and Irish creme liqueur. The best way to make them is with a shaker and ice, 1 oz of each and ice in the shaker shake for a few seconds and strain into a small chilled cocktail glass.

Black Russians would probably be good for you also, 5 parts vodka and 2 parts Kahlua (coffee liqueur) over ice.|||Hopefully you are drinking age. What is a good liquor to buy for a guy turning 21?

I am not a drinker, so therefore I am clueless as to what is good out there and what isn't. So if you could help me :)

My friend is catching up with the rest of us, turning 21.

I'll give you a brief description maybe help with the choice.

No beers, liquor preferably.

He isn't very picky, I wouldn't think.

But he likes finer things in life, nice clothes, etc.

Not a snob, or an asshole, anything like that.

No vodka, already know that one.

IDK, help?|||What about whiskey distilled the same year he was born. It would be special and memorable, certainly more so than just some random bottle of booze. It may be expensive, but you could team up with a couple other friends to buy it. Would recommend any 21 yr scotch. For a little less, you could get some really good US whiskey like Van Winkle 21 yr old. Sometimes Sazerac rye, although it says "18 yr on the label" is actually older based on the date distilled (in smaller typing on the label).|||Rum is my favorite liquor. It has to be spiced rum though. If he likes nice things then he would like Johny Walker. Make sure it is the black label though. That is 10 years old. There is also a green label that is older but it doesn't taste as good. My favorite rum is Meyer's. Meyer's makes a rum called Meyer's Legend which is also 10 years old. It is potent stuff though. It is 80 proof, like every other good rum but it burns like fire going down. If you want a lighter drink that you can drink more of without getting as drunk as with straight rum then you can mix it with coke. And you aren't a drinker because you haven't found anything you like yet. I recommend Tuaca and red bull (Tuaca bomb). Tuaca is like candy, there is no way you can't like it.|||Ok you said no vodka. I know this. Yet i strongly recommend....STRONGLY...smirnoff watermelon. Lots of it. It is very good and you hardly taste the liqour.|||Southern Comfort Its unique flavor of whiskey, fruit and spices is rooted in the spirit of New Orleans

How much beer and liquor for my wedding reception?

We have around 250 people and are buying vodka, rum, gin and whiskey. Also we plan on buying kegs of beer. How many of each bottle of liquor and how many kegs should we get for 250 people?|||It really depends on how much your friends/family/other people you invited because your mother wanted to drink. I would seriously suggest sitting down, estimating how much each person will want to drink on average multiplying it out by your # of guests, then multiply it by 1.25 to make sure you cannot run out.

On that note, because you should overbuy as a precaution, lean a little heavier on the liquor, as it will not go bad and the beer will, so leftovers can be taken home. Also, I am assuming you have proper mixers for the liquors but even so, you should probably get more vodka and whiskey than rum and gin. As for kegs versus liquor, a keg has 150+ beers in it, so it all depends on how much everyone will drink, but if you estimate 2 beers a head on average outside the liquor you need around 3 kegs.|||Ask the liquor store how many cups are in a keg, I used to know but I can't remember. For my wedding, the venue estimated $30 per guest for open bar and that turned out to be about right. So that's 5-6 drinks per guest. Instead of the hard liquor, I would buy cases of wine because it's easier to estimate how many glasses in a bottle- roughly 4. Also if you buy liquor you then have to shell out $$$ for mixers like grenadine, lime, sprite, coke, etc. But you'll be having soft drinks anyway so I guess liquor would work.|||For 250 people that I KNOW each person could easily drink 1/2 - 1 bottle of spirits.

Divide your guest list up into categories

Children - obviously just soft drink and juice for the kiddies :)

Non drinkers - People you KNOW who will not be drinking i.e. pregnant Aunt Grace and 80 year old grandmother. Maybe allocate them one or two drinks just in case. Especially for a toast or soemthing.

Light drinkers - People who will have a few drinks %26amp; stay sober - allocate one drink per hour per person.

Medium drinkers - People who will have a few drinks %26amp; get tipsy - allocate 2-3 drinks per hour per person.

Heavy drinkers - People who are gonna get blind drunk. Allocate 1/2 a bottle to a full bottle per person.|||About 5 bottles of each and probably 3 kegs.

Do I need a liquor license if my guests serve themselves the alcohol?

I am going to be having a house party soon and I would like to have alcohol there for my guests to indulge into. My question is, would I need to have a liquor license even if I am not serving them the alcohol, I would just be providing it, they would serve themselves. Thank you!|||NO

As long as you are not charging you are fine.|||No you would only need a liquor license if you're selling it to them. But if they get it a crash and the person the hit sues, you can be liable for "providing alcohol". It's stupid and it probably would never happen, but you never know.|||You don't need a liquor license if you are having a party.|||LOL No. States require stores that sell liquor to have a liquor license. If you are providing alcohol, thats the same as serving it so under the law..it's still illegal if you are providing alcohol for underage drinkers.|||you can serve them the alcohol, as long as you arent making a profit. (more $ than you spent on the booze)

If people arent of legal age and the party gets busted, you will face issues.|||not likely, you're legit don't worry. you should check out this article though, so you can watch out for people who are drinking the wrong way and try and help them out. it's a good way to be a host

How can I get liquor donated for a charity benefit?

Where can I get liquor donated from for a local charity dinner/dance/silent auction, etc. benefit for charity? Is this possible?|||It is possible, but it can be difficult. You will need to contact a liquor distributor/wholesaler, not a liquor store (if your state has those). There may be a couple of these companies in your area, and they typically control (i.e., have the monopoly on ) the distribution of certain brands of liquor. If you know someone who works for a charity that has gotten liquor donated in the past, they may be able to give you a contact person at a wholesaler that could help you.

It sounds like you are not really particular about what kind of liquor you want, and that's good. If you contact a liquor distributor, tell them that right up front. There may be certain liquor makers that are more open to donations, or there may be a line that is looking for ways to market (especially a new product), so they may be more apt to donate in exchange for free publicity.

Good luck!|||I've done this quite often in the past :)

I contact local restaurants (not franchised) and ask for case donations of wine.

Microbreweries and Distributing centers will generally donate a case of beer.

Talk to the people within your charity and find out if any one has a contact already ~ many of these places get bombarded with so many requests for donations that you have to tread quite carefully.

You will need a special permit to dispense alcohol at charity functions.

If I may make a suggestion? Contact a local restaurant and set up a no host bar instead; tell them they can keep the profits for 10% of the "take".|||You might want to consider running a charity race night the sites below have some free useful advice.

http://www.globalracenight.com

http://www.racenight.me.uk|||First, make sure your facility will allow you to bring in outside alcoholic beverages. Many won't. Or, if they allow you to bring it in, they might charge a corking fee.

Once you are past those obstacles, try beverage warehouse stores (BevMo) and breweries. Local/small companies are a good bet so they can get some exposure. Also, if you are a reigstered non-profit organization, you can ask a company for a donation to cover the wine expense.

For a charity event, you might want to limit your gratuitous beverages to wine and beer. If you splurge on more expensive drinks it looks like some funds are being diverted to the alcohol. Spend more of your event budget on drawing prizes and giveaways so your patrons will have something to take home.

How do I get liquor stains out of my shirt?

I just started bartending at a classy place so I have been wearing nice shirts to work in, the problem is that I've gotten liquor stains on some of my shirts, maybe from simple syrup or juices, sweet things? I dunno, is there something that would take them out?|||Try OxyClean or Oxygen Action or some other oxygen-based cleaner, powdered, you can find similar things in drug stores, dept. stores, discount stores, etc. Make a paste of the powder with a little water, and put it right on the stain, takes only a few minutes to lighten it considerably. If it doesn't work as well as you'd hoped, wet the powder with white vinegar instead of water, that works even better.

If the stain seems like it came from something oily, I like to use shampoo, it gets out oily stains even if you've missed them and run them through the dryer. Obviously, really cheap discount-store shampoo is best, price-wise, just make sure it's nearly colorless, so you're not adding any color or other stains to your shirts.

If all else fails, there's a bleach pen you can use to apply bleach to just the area that's stained, brand name or knock-off, dept. stores, drugs stores, etc., carry it. Be very careful with it, and rinse it out immediately, as soon as the stain has faded, to prevent it from weakening the fabric too much.

When you wash, make sure you're not filling the washer too full, my machine says no more than half to 3/4 full, that's dry clothes. If you put too many things in, nothing will get clean, better to wash too few things than too many in a load. That may help with future stains.

Use a pretreater stain-remover product on fresh spots, Spray-N-Wash, Shout, whichever one looks good to you, follow label directions, and if you then wash things well, a small enough amount of clothes to get everything clean, etc., the stains should not set in. Check after washing and before drying, though, so if the pretreater didn't work, you don't set the stain by drying it in the dryer. Try more pretreater and another wash, or the steps above if it didn't come out the first time.|||It may sound strange but try vodka. I have bartended for 3 years and vodka works wonders!|||HERE....

What alcoholic beverage or liquor gets you drunk the fastest?

Also what alcoholic beverage or liquor gets your blood alcohol level up the fastest?|||Hi

Everclear-190proof or just drink normal spirit which is 200proof(I DO NOT RECOMMEND YOU DO THIS ITS VERY DANGEROUS FOR THE HEALTH AND CAN CAUSE DEATH)

I'm posting this just for general knowledge.

Cheers.|||Higher concentrations of alcohol will get you drunk the fastest because there is little other liquid to get in the way of absorption.

Kids will tell you "jello shots", or recommend various juice-flavored drinks, but this is just so you can drink vodka without tasting the alcohol, and the extra solids and liquids will slow down the rate of absorption. Moreover, these things risk you getting more drunk than you are immediately aware, because the highly diluted alcohol will not effect you immediately.

Whiskey, scotch, and straight vodka all have a very high proof.

However, I hope that you're asking out of curiosity and not seeking a recommendation, because getting drunk quickly is an easy way to end up doing something stupid.|||personally id say dry gin, it always facks me up pretty fast and i think it taste better than vodka! but many would say tequila, i really have never tried it though since i heard it makes you a totally different person but not in a good way like other alcohol. |||Well high proof liquors-

Why Liquor Before Beer you're in the clear and not Beer before Liquor?

I've always wondered this question for a number of reasons, common sense would seem that drinking the less concentrated and potent alcoholic content drink (beer) and then going onto higher concentrated alcohol would be the least 'wear and tear' on the stomach. It just doesn't make sense that if you start out with hard liquor then downgrade to beer later wouldn't the sudden and more harsh intensity of hard alcohol kick one's A**?|||i dont know, but its true!|||****, woteva the real answer is I know I threw up today and I drank bacardi and orange juice, later had a beer , smoked, and smoked cigs...and threw up..it was quite gross.

|||I think in some ways the saying is logical. If you look at drinking like playing blackjack your objective is to get enjoyably drunk without getting sick. If beer is the low cards and straight booze is the high cards, then once you're sitting on something like an 18 it would obviously be unwise to fish for a king. You can get to that 18 with any combination of draws but your ideal scenario is either to win up front with a couple of big draws (early shots) with perhaps a lucky 2 (early shots then a beer) in the mix, or to get nothing but low cards and win by the 5 card default (beer all night). Drinking beer then liquor is something like sitting on a 17 with 4 cards then deciding it's time for body shots of tequila (let's call that the queen).

This analogy is assuming all booze is neutral which we all know isn't true. Sometimes it doesn't matter what order you drink things in, Kahlua + Champagne + Tequila = vomiting 100% of the time no matter what ; )|||because if you drink TOO much beer first hand then she gets mad when you try too lick her|||Because after you drink a bunch of hard liquor, then beer your stomach doesn't notice it much.. But if you drink a lot of beer then liquor, your stomach definitely notices. And what happens next is very embarassing.|||There isn't much truth to this old saying, though I stuck with it for quite a while. read this:

http://wweek.com/html/beer99-science.htm鈥?/a>|||It's the other way around.

If you have been drinking any distilled beverage or wine, never have a beer on top. It will taste really bad and the result isn't pretty.

Been there Done that!|||I think this has more to do with the popularity of boilermakers, or shot-and-a-beer (shot with a beer chaser) with older, more experienced, mainly male drinkers. These guys, having a lot of experience with drinking like this, appear to show the effects of drinking less than do less experienced drinkers, who may get talked into doing shots after having a few beers.

Alcohol, in any form, quickly lowers inhibitions in many people, and those without experience often make poor decisions thereafter. This is one reason drinking games remain popular; it's amazing what many people will do after only a couple of drinks, and such games serve as a means of getting 2 or 3 drinks into even the least social of people fairly quickly.|||Because you've fallen for one of the most prevalent URBAN MYTHS about alcohol.

Drinking alcohol is made up of the exact same thing... Ethanol.

Beer = Ethanol

Wine = Ethanol

Liquor = Ethanol

What happens is people don't realize that there is the exact same amount of alcohol in a beer as there is in a shot. So what do they do? They have a few beers... lets say 3. Then a few shots... let's say 3 also... Then they have 3 more beers of maybe move to mixed drinks. That is 9 servings of alcohol and enough to give the average person quite a buzz and badly upset stomach. It has nothing to do with the mixing or the order in which it is done... It is all about amount.|||It doesnt really matter. Its just a drinking rhyme! Some people say that its bad but, in all actuality it doesnt mean anything. Liquor!!!!?

Does wine, beer, and vodka go bad in dark, room temperature places (aka hidden)??

Yes I am young!! And I dont care!!|||The enemies of alcoholic beverages, especially complex ones like wine and beer, are air, heat, light and agitation. You should store them in a cool, dark place. A cellar is good if you have one, the bottom of a closet in the middle of your house if you don't. Store wine on its side to keep the cork moist. Except for booze, once a bottle is open you can't keep it, the air will spoil it quickly. Drink it up within a couple of days.

So, your dark, room temp place isn't too bad. If you can find a cool place, so much the better.

Hiding it from your folks?|||No, in fact dark is the ideal lighting especially for beer and wine. The vodka doesn't really matter. Obviously you'll want to chill the beer eventually before you drink it.

Wine tends to "spoil" because of drastic temperature changes so if where you have it is at a generally constant temperature that's good. For wine, colder is better than warmer and you should keep it on its side so the cork doesn't dry out. If this happens air can get in and ruin the wine.

That is what bad bars and cheapskates do to minibars.

As for water in your glass: it absolutely does not RUIN the liquor. In fact, in many fine scotches you would be mad not to add a bit of water so you can enjoy the character of it better. The taste of alcohol is diluted to where it will not overpower, but will still have an effect, and the fine characteristics of the specific distillate can be enjoyed.|||It just waters it down. What are the popular brands of beer and hard liquor in Ireland and Britain?

I'm just curious to see what people in the UK seem to favor when it comes to beer and liquor. From the advertisements here in the States, you'd think the Irish live off Guinness and Jameson, so I want to see if those are the liquor and beer of choice in the UK (I have my doubts). I've also heard that Budweiser is starting to be more readily consumed in the UK than it used to be. I hope that's not true though, lol.

I'm also curious to see what the popular beers and hard liquors of the UK are.|||I'm Irish and a bit of an alco, not really but lets make believe for the sake of my answer.

From my experience, most popular beer; Budweiser. most popular spirit; Smirnoff.

Why would you hope that Budweiser wasn't so popular here?|||I'm more a spirits girl myself, my drink of choice being vodka (mixed with coke). A friend of mine who works in a bar in the US said he always knows there's an irish person in when somebody orders that drinks, calls it a "paddy drink". ;) Apart from vodka, in my circle of friends rum is a popular choice for spirits.

The beer/stout drinkers I know go for Guinness, Miller, Coors Light or Heineken. Personally, if I ever go for a beer it's always a bottle of Corona, Sol or Peroni. I think Budweiser is popular too, but I think it's pretty horrible!

The UK has quite a different selection of beers than we have here in Ireland, but the liquor choice is about the same.|||Boddingtons Pub Ale

How come old liquor costs so much?

Why does old (meaning like 20+ years) liquor cost so much? Is it because it's become rare or is it because it tastes better or is it for bragging purposes only?|||it's like fine wine it is aged..|||Part of what you're paying for is the storage costs. Some things are aged in the barrel - whisky, brandy, and tawny port, for example. This requires specialized storage, plus you lose liquor to evaporation over time. Most wines are bottle aged, but still have to be stored under controlled conditions. Aging works mostly for strongly flavored wines and liquors, to blend and mellow the flavors. Scarcity can also drive up the price. Some old bottles become particularly sought after, and dealers can charge more. Whisky doesn't age in the bottle, but an old bottle of Scotch from an esteemed but defunct distillery will command a premium, for example. Like most things, the law of diminishing returns comes into play - a $100 bottle may be thought twice as good as a $50 bottle, but a $10,000 bottle is not 100 times better than that.|||No, no, no !

Spirits - any - if kept in a keg, you lose a certain amount each year to evaporation through the joints in the wood. Google "angel's share".

Second, storage costs: temperature and moisture control, taxes on real-estate, business tax, labour costs etc. - so the longer you store, the more you lose (liquid) and the higher your cost! Same goes for cheese - check the price of four year old Grana Padano etc.

Champagne: bottles need to be turned by hand while resting on their side during the aging process - this costs.

Wine - see barrel costs plus business costs.|||When liquor is left to age, it's generally thought to taste better, and be richer. It is considered rare because of age, and the combination of the two makes it a valuable commodity.|||My guess is because the older it is the better tasting it is. The older the better.|||Another way to make money!

Nah idk, lol

Supposedly the older, the better its taste.

What is the difference between drinking Beer and Malt Liquor?

They both taste the same, but one is cheaper and packs more of a punch... So why does everyone make fun of Malt Liquor?|||If you're drinking beer that tastes like malt liquor, you're drinking the wrong kind of beer.

Malt liquor was a term developed when states had even stricter laws regarding alcohol contents in beer - at that time, anything over a certain percentage had to be labeled a malt liquor, rather than beer or lager.

If you're out to get drunk for cheap, then go right ahead with malt liquor - don't forget the paper bag.

If you want to drink something of quality, rather than quantity, check out some Craft Beers, particularly something local to where you live. Your local Better Beer Wine and Liquor store should have a nice selection.

But to answer your basic question, everyone makes fun of malt liquor because it's cheap, has little to no flavor (by style), and is only sold in 40 oz bottles that you're supposed to drink straight from.

While the average Bud/Miller/Coors will likely taste very similar to a malt liquor, there's a reason for this. Neither one is considered a quality beverage,

With everything from Stouts.. to Pale Ales.. to IPA's.. to Porters... to Lambics..... to Dopplebocks.. to Hefeweizen's and on and on and on, I firmly believe there is a 'better' beer out there for everyone.

Even the higher ABV of malt liquor is a moot point in terms of better beer, as there are countless beers with equal, if not higher ABV's. Belgian styles tend to be at least as strong and American brewers have been known to push the envelope to unheard of levels in terms of alcohol content.

Dogfish Head for example has the 120 Minute IPA at a whopping 21 percent.. try to find a malt liquor at that strength and they have World Wide Stout at 18 percent.

I'm not saying drink beers simply because of the higher alcohol contents, simply stressing that if the higher ABV is one of the the main motivating factors for drinking malt liquor, that's no longer a valid reason.

The best part? Not only are stronger imports and craft brews strong, but in general they tend to taste good and that's a huge advantage over malt liquor.

Now granted you might be happy sticking to malt liquor and again if that's your choice I can respect that. That being said it might not be a bad idea to at least try to venture out into the world of better beer, who knows you might like what you find.

Check out BeerAdvocate and RateBeer for reviews and potential beers to try|||malt liquor is wayyyy better! Its cheaper and has a higher alcohol content|||Most beer people would say that malt liquor does not taste the same. I personally don't see a difference and, since it's cheaper, why not?

What are the lightest types of liquor & what are the strongest types?

%26amp; why do some people mix liquor with fruit juices %26amp;/or sodas? What are some good-tasting liquor/soda/fruit juice combinations? I'm 24 %26amp; only tried alcohol like once or twice when I was 3 because my deceased foster father fed it to me, %26amp; it was nasty.

***I have no intentions on trying any alcohol since I take medicine, but I'm just curious. That's why I'm asking.|||Legal Everclear is about 150 proof (75% alcohol).

Hard liquor like rum %26amp; vodka are usually 40% alcohol.

Most beers are under 10% alcohol. The most common brands are about 4 or 5%.

Table wine is generally 11% to 14%.

The reason people mix hard liquors with juice and soda is because: a) It tastes nasty on its own because of all the alcohol, and b) The serving size is much smaller (a shot is 1.5 oz) so if you want a full glass you can mix in all sorts of stuff.

I personally like daiquiris, which are made with rum, sugar and lime juice. I find citrus-y juice goes well with rum and whisky, which are my favourite liquours.

If you're drinking alcohol for the first time in most of your life, remember to make sure you know the proper serving sizes and set limits for yourself. Otherwise it's not at all fun.|||everclear i had last night at friends 21st b-day was 96% alcohol and it was amazing lol.

I am doing an assignment for my cooking class, and the recipe has this liquor in it.

I don't think it would be appropriate to take alcohol to school and use it in my food, so how do I change this without affecting the taste?|||Pernod is a French anise flavored liquor. Similar to Greek ouzo. It is licorice flavored. There is anise flavoring you can find in the grocery store in the baking section near vanilla flavoring. That would probably work best for a non alcoholic version. When cooking with alcohol is it usually burns off during the cooking process. It's not the same as drinking it. What is the plastic insert in the neck of liquor bottles for?

On larger bottles of hard liquor, I notice plastic inserts in the top of the bottle that obstruct the opening. Why are they there? Why not on smaller bottles?|||It allows the liquor to be poured out more smoothly instead of splashing all over the place. They allow air into the bottle while you are pouring so that it doesn't "glug" and go all over the place or cause you to pour more than you wanted.|||It slows down the flow out of the neck so you can measure it if you don't have one of the neck inserts that stick out of the bottle.

How many glasses of highly concentrated whiskey or liquor is neccesary to raise your BAC to .5?

It's for a chem project (I'm not an alcoholic).

1st question: What's the highest concentrated legal liquor, something most people would be familiar with.

2nd question: how many times would a glass have to be refilled to get a Blood Alcohol Content of .5?|||1st question: The most common high alcohol sold in the US is Bacardi 151 since some states regulate that 151 proof is the highest you can sell. Everclear is 190 proof and is sold in select states.

2nd question: Since each drink of a standard alcohol(12oz beer/4oz wine/1.5oz 80proof) raises the BAC of an individual by .02 it would take 25 drinks to raise the BAC to .5. Each hour the body burns .02 so you would have to drink an additional drink for each hour. If you are using 151 it would take 13.333 drinks and if you are using 190proof Everclear it would take 10.5 drinks.

Hope that helps.|||It is very hard to answer that question because it is dependant on so many variables including; how often the person drinks, size of person, food consumed that day, and the amount of time that it is consumed in.|||everclear for the highest level of booze, one shot|||Between 2 and 3 glasses will raise a typical persons BAC to .08, so by my calculations it would be 18.75 to get to .5|||just so you know if your bac reaches 0.4 you will slip into a coma.|||Bacardi 151 rum is commonly sold in liqueur stores everywhere. 13 straight shots would probably bring you up to .5 bac. but, each hour one drink is filtered through your system be it a 12 ounce beer a shot of 80 proof liqueur, or an 8 ounce glass of wine.

Why does liquor make people wet on themselves?

why is it that my friend uses the bathroom on herself after she drinks so much liquor, it only happens if she drinks liquor not beer, she will go to bed and then wake up and the sheets and her clothes are wet, this is a pattern everytime she drinks liquor and goes to bed. Why is that? She doesn't do it on purpose she is 21 years old. shuld she wear depends or what?|||Hey. The reason that we like alcohol is because it's a depressant drug. It works on your central nervous system, which sends impulses all thoughout your brain and body. The first thing that happens when you drink alcohol is that it starts to affect your higher brain functions. This is why it lowers inhibitions - stops making you overthink things and just relax and enjoy them.

The next thing that happens is it affects deeper into your brain. The more central nervous system functions such as psychomotor coordination become affected. It slows down the rate that neurons fire and makes it harder for them to fire again: this is why cops to roadside tests: because you're obviously screwed if you can't adjust to a fine psychomotor task. (Walking a straight line, touching your nose, your brain is a little slower to co-ordinate than usual.)

Finally, the alcohol starts to get in towards the core brain functions. What is happening is your friend is probably too drunk to remember to pee before going to bed, and then her body is sending the signal: "I need to pee, get up!" and the central nervous system is too depressed to heed the signal and wake her from sleeping.

After a while the brain tricks the person into thinking that the dream is real, and since they need to pee so bad they find a place to pee in their dream - but immediately wake up when they realize it wasn't real, because suddenly the body's sending a lot more "oh ****, this isn't normal, this is ****** up! signals which activate more of the brain."

If she's not getting up immediately, then she's had a lot way too much more than she should have to drink and it means she's finding her functions all the way depressed nearly down to the brainstem. That kills people -%26gt; alcohol poisoning, resperatory distress, aspiring vomit, stuff like that. If she's not waking up, she's at risk for respiratory depression when this happens and she needs someone to stay with her when she's drinking and take her vitals.

If she _can_ drink less, it would help. I'm not going to preach about drinking, I'm in no place to do it, but trust me when you drink like this at 21, it gets worse - a lot worse. Takes a few years, usually, but. After that it's a lifetime of being an alcoholic. Hopefully she doesn't drink a lot and has supportive friends. Don't rag on her, she can't help the peeing and probably can't help the drinking.

Hope it helped,

Rob|||She needs to stop drinking....she is too drunk to know that she needs to get up and go to the bathroom.....to me she sounds like an alcoholic.....|||Everything may not suit everybody...one should be cautious and see what suits his/her. Generally not a good idea to mix drinks, but the real danger is in drinking too much. If you keep your consumption to a reasonable amount, you needn't worry about it.

How True is Beer before liquor never been sicker?

I've tried drinking liquor after beer, and i did get sick, but i think it was just because it was dry gin (nasty) and i might've pysched myself out, just expecting it to happen. But i wanted to know, Does taking a few shots of liquor, perhaps vodka, after you've drank beer really make you sick? Does letting some time pass between drinking the two help also?|||OK this is pretty easy actually. The only reason that people get sick from alcohol is one reason.... DEHYDRATION!!!!!! The only reason that this saying holds any significance is that most people once they start drinking the liquor pretty lose all logic and forget to stay hydrated because liquor has a much higher alcohol content than beer and beer is also a good bit of water where as liquor is really not much so I am positive that if you drink a LOT of water before passing out you will wake up with either no hangover at all or a much smaller one than you would have had if you would have not drank the water. Trust me on this one. I have only ever had one hangover in my life and it was when i forgot to stay hydrated.|||very true|||Beer then liquor = going from buzz to wasted. liquor then beer = high alcohol % to a lower alcohol % so you can see how it works...|||I for one would Not be Able to Answer this Question, when I did Drink, I Used the Former to Chase the Latter, and My Friends Used to Say to me!...Don't you Ever Get Drunk??|||the saying is a complete load of crap, you can get sick from any alcohol, regardless if you mix it and in what order; I do agree that gin is nasty (I think so but many people like it, thats just my taste). It doesnt matter what, if and in what order you mix booze, I've mixed dark and clear liquor along with beer and white and red wine all in one night, several times in no particular order and have been fine, on the other hand, I've drank strictly beer and have been sick; if your body doesnt like what you put in it, its going to let you know!!! If you're drinking it is best to try not to mix too many different things but if you drink, period, you run the risk of getting sick off of it|||in my experience i have never had a problem mixing the too. i usually use beer as chaser for any shot as a matter of fact. it really all depends on you though, everyone has limits and everyone is effected differently. but i don't live my life off of a silly saying. you are right though the fact that it was gin might of played a role in your sickness as well as all the hype surrounding beer before liquor. the only thing you can really do is experiment and find what works for you and what doesn't.|||Mostly true, even together might be unwise. I once made myself a boilermaker and felt sick afterwards.|||The main problem people have with beer before liquor is that they get drunk with beer, and then start doing shots.

The problem with this is that you are already stupid with alcohol and have no ability to pace yourself. Instead, you just get more enthusiastic about drinking more and faster, and before you know it, you've done half a dozen shots in half an hour. That's how people get never sicker.

If you do liquor before beer, you may be drunk, but your pace of drinking slows down because it takes a lot more liquid to get drunk. Hence, people tend to maintain their level of intoxication rather than getting worse and worse.

The point of this is, any combination can be okay, but it all depends on how fast you drink, and shots go down too fast and easy for most people to handle.

Liqueur Chocolates

Although tempting, it is not a good idea to fill chocolates with neat liqueur. For best results, add the liqueur of your choice to a sugar syrup or mix it with a little fondant or marzipan. The following recipe will allow a thin sugar coat to form on the inside leaving the centre fluid.

Combine 375g (12 oz) of granulated sugar and 90 ml (4 fl oz) of cold water in a heavy-based saucepan and stir continuously over a low heat until the sugar has dissolved. Increase the heat to allow the syrup to boil until it reaches a temperature of 108掳C (225掳F). Quickly remove from the heat and place the pan in cold water to stop the cooking process. Add 60ml or 4 tablespoons of liqueur of your choice to the syrup, without stirring it in. Instead, have a second saucepan at hand and pour the syrup backwards and forwards from saucepan to saucepan, this stops sugar crystals from forming. Once cooled, the syrup can be used to fill your chocolates.|||look online at cooks.com or another for the chocolate forms, you have to make it in four steps I would think, each half of the bottle, then chocolate them together, then fill and top off with the chocolate cap, time consuming
