Will drinking liquor cause you to gain weight in your stomach?

I know that beer can cause a beer gut, but can liquor do the same?|||Yes it can just as anything high in calories can.|||yes it can so i tend to try and stay away from it as much as i can very hard though.|||hi iam physiotherapist and yoga instructer....yes it increases the volume of stomach so wat ever food we eat occupys space so the volume of stomach increases and stomach capcisty is only 1 kg if u take beer r liqour it expands the stomach the volume because beer has speacial integrants in it whihc can expand up to 10 kgs volume.....so this is symptoms...all the best|||Of course, drinking too much, too frequently will definitely cause weight gain. The Alcohol in Liquor does turn to sugars and the 'empty calories' will build up quickly without exercise. However, in moderation, alcohol actually stimulates the metabolism after one or 2 shots. Thats why some people will feel hungry after drinking a bit. Which could also make you gain weight, cuz you'd be more likely to eat unhealthy foods.|||yes, and beer too...the yeast in it leaves you this bloated feeling..also liquor turns into sugar, fats used in juices to mix drinks.can get yo fat too|||Depends on the drink. Those with high sugar content such as those with juice in it or with sugary liqueor like Kahlua or Bailey's Irish Creme will make you gain weight.|||YES, liquor is high in calories and sugar. if you are mixing liquor its always better to mix with a diet soda to save some calories. i love diet coke and captain morgan. (one shot is only 2 weight watchers points)|||of course.|||Your body processes alcohol first, before fat, protein, or carbs. Thus drinking slows down the burning of fat. This could account for the weight gain seen in some studies.|||the short answer is no as with any alcoholic drink.

you gain weight in your stomach or fat anywhere else because when you drink too much your blood suger drops and your get hungary and your common sense goes out the window and you eat all kinds of rubbish. just look at any british pub after closing time. the lads and ladettes who drink too much then have to have food, so they eat kebabs!, enough said|||Drinking liquor will not cause you to gain weight anywhere if you expend more calories than you consume.

Liquor contains calories, as does beer and wine. They do not contain fat, and generally have fewer calories per serving than non-diet soda or even juice or lemonade. So having a couple shots will add fewer calories to your system than a glass of lemonade. But no one gets accused of having a lemonade belly, do they?
