What are the requirements on getting a liquor license for a business?

I want to know the requirements to be elgible to get a liquor license for a business. (I'm interested requirements not how to get one.)|||Contact your State's liquor commission. In CT it is run by the office of consumer protection. They have a website which details all information with on-line forms.|||well here in california it starts with a background check for all the owners. then depending on the community a lic has to be availible or bought in an auction.or a existing bar has to be purchased... even here in cali it varies some degreee from county to county...addditionally the local law enforcement and city cousel has the right to minimize your operation with a "conditional use permit" could limit hours, require more parking, uniformed security, and the like...|||I know it depends on the state. NJ is very hard, and you must buy a pre-existing one in most cases, since towns do not make more new ones. This means there is a bidding war and very high prices. I know it is much cheaper in other states.|||it varies from state to state
