How much would it cost to stock inventory in a new empty Liquor Store?

Me and 2 Partners are opening a liquor store and just want an idea on how much we may need to stock the store. The store is between 1500-2000 square feet. We want to sell Wine spirits and a little selection of beer.|||Stop by a local liquor store that is about the same size as what you have in mind and take a rough count of how many bottles they have. You can do an estimate by counting the number of shelves and doing a real count of a few feet of one shelf. Your estimate will give you a starting point in your math.

Figure that you will pay around $20 per bottle to get you started. Of course if you want to carry high end stuff it will be much more. Methinks you have budgeted too low.|||Wow, just to stock it (exluding permits, insurance, etc.) I'd have a good $100,000 in the bank at least, if not more. Start-up is the worst part, having to buy everything at once. After that you'll get a feel for what's moving and what isn't.|||30,000
