What is a good straight liquor for someone who hates the taste?

I think liquor tastes awful, so most of the time I'm forced to drink beer. Beer is a lot of calories and take a lot to have a good effect. I was wondering if anyone had a suggestion for a liquor that has a good taste and barely any burn. Any flavor that could hide the horribly strong taste of liquor (not a mixer or a chaser) would be great. Thanks!|||The smoothest vodka I've ever drank is Skyy.

I like the burn of cheap vodkas %26amp; Skyy is something I'd never buy again because it's just way too smooth. (And costly.)

If your tolerance to alcohol is low, be careful if you wind up buying Skyy, because you may underestimate it and drink more than you can handle before you realize it.|||The distilled alcohol has a lot of calories unless it is drank straight, with water/rocks, non caloric mixers (how many people use these?). So once you begin to mix the alcohol with the high caloric mixers you now have a drink more caloric and more fattening than beer. In fact beer in not fattening at all.

What? The Scotch I had the other day burnt real nice going done indeed. It may be a smoother and finer drink than less cultured alcohols but it did warm and burn going down.|||Good whiskey takes a little bit of time to adjust to, but it is very tasty once you do. Fruity without being girly, smooth, refined...try Maker's Mark, or Jim Beam/Jack Daniels if you want to go cheaper.

Whiskey and Coke(I do Diet Coke) is a good way to ease yourself into whiskey sipping as well.|||Mix vodka with a little cranberry juice (or grenadine which is cherry juice) and lime juice, use alot of ice and you won't taste the alcohol alot. Both are sooooo good.|||Southern Comfort|||Expensive stuff. Good whiskey, vodka and tequila does not burn like the cheaper stuff.|||vodka median to pricey quality won with a lift or solo
