What kind of liquor would be good to serve at a wedding reception?

I am not much of a drinker, so I really don't know what to offer. Since my mother is paying for the reception, she does not really want a hard liquor. I am passing out personalized shot glasses as favors, so I would like one or two different types of liquor to be served. What would be a good suggestion for shots? (we will of course have beer, wine and champagne, but I want the guests to be able to use the shot glasses...if they want)|||One of the 4 Well drinks are a must. Vodka, Rum, Gin and Whiskey. Or go with 2 of them. |||If you plan to have tasty adult beverages and give shot glasses as favors at your reception, one can assume the social implications of my suggestions may possibly be overlooked. But, if not, they will surely provide something to talk about when you're looking through the photos from your reception.





Since you and your bethrothed are about to be wisked away in the legendary gilded carriage to assumably consumate the marrriage vows, why not let your guests join in a little revelry that is consistent with that theme?





Some of these are cocktails, not shots. However, you can make them in pitchers and pour them as shots.

1oz. Malibu Rum


3/4oz. Peach Schnapps


1oz half and half


fill with 1/2 pineapple 1/2 oj


splash of Grenadine


Instructions Roll contents into mixing tin or other glass

Difficulty Easy|||well you have to consider the kind of people you have invited. If they are hard core partiers then you could offer something they would like such as a rum or vodka (easily mixable with juices/sodas). If it is more of a sophisticated crowd you could offer somemething they would like such as jin or grand marnie (I can't spell that). I also like the idea of jello shots but that doesn't really give your guests an oportunity to use your favors. I hope this helped and congradulations!|||I would say moonshine or absinthe... would probably help everyone get through the wedding the easiest|||Kahlua is good, it's creamy and not too harsh. You can always go for the old classics, like tequila and Jack Daniels. If you don't want people to get out of control, you should only keep a couple bottles of each on hand, depending on how many guests will be there. Like have enough for about 2 shots each person, or even just 1 shot per person because there will be a lot of people there who will not drink the liquor, and there will be plenty for the others. Personally, if it were me, I wouldn't use a sentimental souvenir for shots, even if that is what the souvenir is intended for.|||Jack Daniels or Crown Royal.|||First, not everyone loves those jello shots.





Second, the point is to use the glasses that are favors, so pre-made jello won't cut it.





I would suggest that something light, perhaps Bailey's, or something like Amaretto (almond) Frangelico (hazelnut), or Chambord (black raspberry) that is a bit sweet. Your mother probably won't object to either one and guests can add each to coffee as well.|||I'd go with rum or vodka, since these are the best mixers.
