I know that choclate liquor has no alcohol - it is made from the grinding of the cacao bean. But where do I find it? I have a recipe that calls for chocolate liquor and I'm not sure where to find it. Or can I melt unsweetend chocolate (which is made from choclate liquor and cocoa butter) as a substitute?|||I see no reason that melted unsweetened chocolate wouldn't work. I would do it.....|||some liquor stores carries this|||chocolate liquor that has no alcohol is not liqour.
if the glaze is made over the stove (to melt the sugar) then you can use liqour - as the alcohol will cook off and it will no longer be present in the glaze.|||While the chocolate liquor (frequently spelled "liqueur") available at ABC stores contains alcohol, some grocery stores sell a non-alcoholic version of creme de cacao and creme de menthe. I'd love to hear more about the recipe!|||There are two kinds of cream de cacao. Dark and light.
A good recipe for a tootsie roll shot is one part light cream de cacao, one part kalhua, and one part orange juice.
Made right, it tastes like a chocolate tootsie roll!!!!
